The body has its own drugs

You all probably know those which run daily miles, those called "Joggers", such as President Clinton and many other good people. Those who are accustomed to running every day will tell you that they are "addicted". They are addicted to the good feeling that comes after the running. This good feeling is not like any other, "It feels just like floating inthe air, just like levitation", they will tell you "This is a deep feeling of tranquility". This feeling that those who are engaged in strenuous physical activity experience, is not just the result of the achievement of running so many miles cycling such a long way. This feeling stems from the release of a particular hormone into the brain, the hormone that creates in our mind a deep feeling of tranquility, of unusual optimism, of happiness!

This hormone is called "Endorphin". If the name sounds familiar, it is because its molecular structure is quite similar, just like ring of its name, to Morphine. Indeed, the same Morphine used to soothe pain and used for giving drug-addicts the famous "high" feeling. Yet, just as its name suggests, the origin of this "morphin" is internal and not a polluted syringe in the hands of a drug addict. Indeed, our minds can produce hormones in response to certain situations and interestingly enough, we can even get addicted to those internal chemicals.

Two major activities that cause endorphins' production are sexual activity and strenuous physical activity. Other ways to achieve this effect is fine food, massages and being close to the beloved or lover. Indeed, if we think for a moment, pay attention that there are those among us who are addicted to one or more of the activities mentioned above.
